Hi,

Have you been before in Haven Holiday Park?, please, I need your guidance.

We will be our first holiday in a caravan park, we are going to Golden Sands in Lincolnshire, our children are 6 and 3 years.

What we must not forget to bring?, What is advisable to Consider?, I feel silly asking this but, which will dry the towels? Confused

Greatly appreciate all that you can comment me.

Happy summer!.

I go to Haven sites most years and I always take my own sharp knife, plastic measuring jug (if you're going to need one), corkscrew (if needed!), kitchen towels, washing up liquid, toilet rolls, and if you've got a little fan heater I would put that in the car too..

I usually take my own bedding and pillows too or sleeping bags..

The caravans are usually quite well equipped but just now and again some caravans hardly have any kitchen bits!

There is usually an airer thingy to hang out the window to dry towels and cossies. I would take some clothes pegs as the caravans don't always have them and then you don't have to worry that everthing will land on the ground.

Would second taking your favourite kitchen bits and pieces. As well as a sharp knife, I take our vegetable peeler as the one provided is usually rubbish! Just remember to go through all the drawers and cupboards when you leave!

Also cleaning cloths, washing up brushes and sponges as these probably won't be provided. I always take anti-bacterial wipes for a quick wipe round of anywhere that looks a bit doubtful. The caravans are usually clean but it's good to be prepared!

Basically take anything that makes your life a bit easier and will fit in the car. I start lists of stuff to take weeks before and add to it as I think of things, then check it all off as I pack. Military operation Smile

I've found the bedding to be fine in these places but usually take our own pillows except DH's cos he's not bothered.

We take a cool box with food, milk etc for dinner and breakfast the next morning so we can settle in and the kids can look around without worrying about food shopping. We do a big shop at a supermarket off site the next day. The little one on site is ok for little bits, but expensive and limited in what they stock.

Hope that helps. Have a lovely holiday! Smile

Toilet Roll
Tea Towel
Washing up liquid
washing up sponge.

I normally take our own pillows too.

YOu can usually get a supermarket to deliver to your caravan if you fancy that.

We're off the Haven next week and can't wait!

Methe · 25/07/2012 13:20

Clothes pegs
Colouring pens/paper
Toys for kids to play with on site
Definitely a sharp knife

Washing up liquid.
Some washing powder (you could hand-wash if need be, but the launderette there is very expensive so at least take some powder if you think you'll need to wash stuff).

MungoJelly · 25/07/2012 14:05

All the above plus hand wash / soap for the loo.

Lots and lots of change for the amusements. I'm addicted to the 2p ones.
