Alternative to Bedruthan?

Wondering if anyone could recommend an alternative to the Bedruthan Steps hotel in Cornwall? It is exactly the type of hotel I'm looking for, but for one reason or another I can't get that far South. So was hoping for an equivalent in The Cotswolds or Yorkshire (or anywhere in between).

What appeals about Bedruthan in particular is the daytime creche facility and the nighttime babysitting - most places I have found are very restrictive about how long you can book your child into the creche during the day (i.e. max two hours). Also Bedruthan seems SO child focussed, nothing else I've found seems to compare on that front. Basically I'm after 3/4 nights of some family/some adult alone time during day plus nice food in evening once the little one is in bed.

Thanks!

My geography is pants so please for give me if this is no good location wise but there is definitely a place near Bournemouth that has been likened to Bedruthan Steps. Shall i try and find out the name for you?

Many years ago we stayed at Radford's near Dawlish & there were good child facilities there in those days. Don't know about now, though. That may be too far for you. Calcot Manor near Tetbury is supposed to be good but I can't give a personal recommendation.

thanks mckenzie, but Bournemouth isn't really much better location-wise to Cornwall (i.e. South coast generally is out). I have been looking into Calcott Manor, Sloo, and it looks awesome - now just trying to work out whether we could afford it!! Will check out Radford's...

Take a look at Footprint's Britain with Kids travel book - it has lots of really good child friendly recommendations all over the UK. My husband wrote the book and we stayed at several of the ones recommended -there's the portfolio of luxury family hotels if you want to push the boat out. Go to: luxuryfamilyhotels.com for inspiration. Good luck!
