Hi we are looking for suggestions of area/town to visit for a few days which is within about an hour's drive from Liverpool. We are travelling with a 2 year old and are hoping friends who live in Liverpool can visit us for a day. We want to be somewhere with access to nice walks, fun activities for toddler, historical interest etc. We thought about Buxton, never been before....any other ideas would be much appreciated. We will be on our way from Cumbria and are heading to the Devon for a week but have a few days free for a stopover en route to hopefully see our friends....but we are not that keen to actually stay in Liverpool itself, nothing against the city, we just fancy being more rural. Suggestions welcome.....and here's hoping for the rain to finally stop!
