I've never been to Butlins and am thinking of booking a break for me and DS in the summer school holidays but can only afford a standard room. Does anyone know what their standard rooms are like? Also is there enough there to entertain a 6yo if it rains? I'm not a fan of UK holidays tbh but can't afford to go abroad but would like to take DS away.

I can' advise about standard rooms, we had an apartment. There is loads to do if it rains. Indoor shows in the skyline, a brilliant swimming pool, bobs yard is indoors, loads of childrens activites with the entertainers, cinema although you have to pay for that. We went (a few years ago) and only left the site once in 5 days, and that was for an afternoon on the beach. We had a great time.

You,ll love it! We had a standard room and it was basic but fine.We were hardly in it! Been to centre parks and much preferred Butlins.Have a great time!

we're off to Butlins Skegness in Sept (booked through the sun holidays), we're staying in standard room, am hoping its ok. You read good reviews but then some shocking ones as well- although i do think some people are unrealistic in their expectatiosn.
