Centre Parce Elveden Forest questions

We're off to Elveden Forest for the weekend, a couple of questions,

  • is there anywhere reasonable (not too expensive, pre-schooler friendly) to have lunch nearby, would be good to eat one last mean before we enter?
  • is aircraft noise an issue? Someone at work told me that if you were staying near the country club (which we are) then there was lots of aircraft noise from a nearby airforce base
  • do you need a pound coin for the lockers in the pool?

Thanks

No idea about meals nearby but don't recall any air traffic noise and yes coins for lOckers

I can recommend this place for a good meal and it's very close to CP.

I don't think the aircraft noise is a problem.

Don't know about the lockers, sorry!

Have a fab time Smile

The air traffic noise is really noticeable, when the military aircraft head over it is thunderous. It wouldn't matter where you are on site, you would hear it. It is not constant so does not spoil it. We have been 3 times to Elveden and noticed it more on 1 holiday, so it might depend on what military operations are taking place. Don't let it put you off, it is a great place :)

About the lockers, you do need a pound, but it is the type of locker that refunds it, so it doesn't cost (as long as you don't forget the coin).

Also, there is a really big Sainsbury's 5-10 minute drive away in a retail park heading towards Thetford from Center Parcs, so you can stock up at the Elveden end before you enter Center Parcs rather than bring lots of stuff directly from home.

My husband is very nerdy interested in military jets and the like and we found that they don't tend to fly so much at the weekend.

You really don't notice the aircraft noise so much, it certainly in no way spoils the holiday.

Have a great time, hope that the weather perks up for you!
