Tell me all about Aldeburgh....

Its a big birthday for DH later in the year, so am taking him to stay in the Martello tower on Aldeburgh beach (he has a huge passion for the seaside). its going to be a surprise for him.

We know Southwold well although its been a few years since we went. Aldeburgh we've only been to once - I can remember the fantastic fish and chips but not much else.

Any must-dos? Any great places to eat for his birthday meal?

If you like fish, the Lighthouse restaurant and the Regatta are lovely. They both serve things other than fish too, if you prefer.

The Golden Galleon is the famous fish and chip shop: be prepared to queue but worth the wait.
