Peak District ideas: Afternoon tea / brewery?

DH and DD (will be 21m) are having a week in the Peak District in June, and the very first day is DH's birthday. I want to try and plan a nice surprise day, but am having trouble finding what I'm looking for, so was hoping someone who knows the area might be able to help...

First idea: brewery or beer tasting? There are lots of breweries, but can't see and that have tours or anything. I can always replace this with a nice pub that has good beer though...

There is a tea rooms near where I live that does afternoon tea (or 'high tea') with a cake stand full of sandwiches and scones and cakes and I wanted to find somewhere that did something a bit more special than just a piece of cake.

Any ideas?

Chatsworth does post expensive afternoon teas.
