That's it really. Have you been and what are these parks like. Any top tips?

We went to Devon Cliffs at Easter last year and really enjoyed it. The beach is lovely. Do you have any specific questions? It's the only holiday of this kind I've done so don't have anything to compare it with!

Thanks Bluestocking! I've never been on this type of holiday before. Family holidays as a child involved 7 of us shoehorned into a tiny caravan in the pishing rain in the Highlands, so I'm not really sure what to expect from this kind of holiday.

I'm not a clean freak or anything, but are the caravans and other facilities generally clean? Did you use the kids clubs at all?

We went with another family and there was no problem at all with booking us into adjacent caravans, even though they were different types - they had three bedrooms and we had two. The caravans were spotlessly clean and everything in them worked perfectly.
We used the swimming pool area, which was good fun - slightly in need of a general refresh in terms of decor but again, extremely clean. Our friends used the kids' club with their two younger children and said it was fine. The whole place is very well-organised - bins emptied like clockwork etc - lots of charming young staff everywhere looking after things. Apparently Haven used to have a real problem with customer service but it now belongs to Butlins who have turned that right round.

We stayed at Weymouth Littlesea in October and were not at all impressed. We took our own caravan and the washroom/washing up facilities were spotlessly clean and tidy. But the site itself is situated around the back of an industrial estate! The pool was small and hugely overcrowded, the water was also very warm (thinking bacterial soup here) and our daughter contracted norovirus whilst we were there.

That said we have visited other Haven sites and really enjoyed them, Hafan y Mor is fine.

Yuk serin. Norovirus is awful Sad

We went to Littlesea camping in July, and it was much better than I thought it would be. The industrial estate isn't what you see from the site (overlooks the Fleet), and the bus to the town is great. It goes right to the beach, so v convenient.

The pool isn't big enough for the size of the site, but it was lovely and warm and clean when we were there.
We didn't use kids clubs, but ds did some activities which were well run

Been to Devon Cliffs (horrific place, never ever again) Weymouth Bay and Seaview, both were fine.

Have done several Haven sites thanks to the sun holidays for cheap breaks and have always been fine, not my cup of tea but great for my ds who are 2 and 5.

Tend to do kids club for an hour or so inh the morning, park or swimming, lunch, go out for the afternoon, tea, kids disco, wine o'clock in the caravan when they are in bed Grin

Rockley park was lovely but no beach as such, Newquay nice and Hayle lovely (small park, beautiful location right on the beach).

What was wrong with Devon Cliffs carrielou?

we went to weymouth bay/seaview (theyare close to each other & u can use facilities at both). Had a great time, loads to do nearby. Bearing in mind the olympic sailing events are in weymouth it may be v.hectic or v.exciting depending on your POV!
