Hi - we are going to Leicester for a few days in a couple of weeks. Has anyone any suggestions about what places to visit (with 6 and 4 year old), good places to eat etc. Thanks

Snibston in Coalville is great.

Charnwood forest, nice country park, several places to park car. Bradgate park the most popular entry point.

Foxton Locks - kids might like it.

I know this isn't strictly Leics but if the weather is nice then you could venture to Rutland ~ Uppingham and Oakham are nice (small) towns and of course Rutland Water is lovely for walks/cycle.

The New Walk museum is v good and often has excellent temporary displays/events.

There's a Roman museum that is good for a short mooch and also the old police station or something that is quite interesting for a short look, but I have forgotten precisely what it is.

The Space Museum is okay but not brilliant.

Gotta be curry to eat, I would have thought? We went to a lovely veggie one near the train station last time we were in Leicester.

At the risk of being told off... I live in a very white part of the UK to mitigate this.
I quite enjoyed walking down the Asian heartland of Belgrave Road, the sights, scents, random snippets of other languages, & scenery of it. Lovely saris, Indian food, Indian sweets!, heaps of gold shops, etc. I enjoy the spectacle. Which is novel when you live in an area like I do.

Abbey Park is nice, too.
