Blackpool with small kids - what to do in bad weather

We are off to Blackpool for 4 days and I fear we are in for bad weather. We have already planned to go to Pleasure beach for 1 day and the zoo for 1 day but does anyone have any ideas for the other days, particularly if the weather is bad and preferably not costing much.

The kids are 5 and just 2. Unfortunately the swimming pool is out as OH is a non swimmer which is a shame because it looks fab.

Is the Tower open?

We went one year in a blizzard and spent the whole day in the Tower. There is a play area, a circus and usually some craft type things going on for children.

have you got a car?
it's a fairly quick drive to the Museum of Lancashire Life in Preston, which my DC (5 and 17mo) really love. Especially sitting in the tank, and playing in the Anderson Shelter.

I have heard the tower gets shut in high winds, so hopefully it will be open when we get there. Yes we do have a car so nearby places will be good, I will google the museum sounds interesting.

Forgot to mention it is DS1's birthday while we are there does anyone know of a family friendly pub we can go to for his birthday tea.

right next to the zoo (as in park in same carpark) there is a massive soft play centre

if you have been to the zoo in "about the past week", you can get in for half price, so keep your zoo tickets

the Zoo is GREAT... we took our baby their in November, we will be going back!
