Our 5yo has chosen our holiday destination...We are all v excited. Looks fantastic. But where to stay?
We're thinking Weymouth on the grounds that it might rain. But will we just then spend every day in car going to beaches elsewhere? We're quite a towny family so camping or 'deep' countryside is not really an option.

I LOVE the swanage area

have always camped but im sure there must be more luxurious places around than a tent!

Lyme Regis. It is in the heart of the true 'Jurassic' bit with the spectacular ammonite pavement on the beach in front of the undercliff. You can see huge ammonites, several feet across. It has a small museum, a small cinema, is very pretty, you can do boat trips and it is within easy driving distance of the Donkey Sanctuary, the Seaton Railway, lots of great beaches. There is a Fossil Centre at Charmouth (a very short drive or a walk along the beach or over the cliffs), visit lovely places in Devon, or the fantastic beach at Burton Bradstock.
