Child Friendly hotel in Yorkshire area

I am planning 40th Birthday celebrations and would like to go with my DH and DDs to a nice hotel for a couple of nights. The nicer the better but what I really want is a hotel which is actually child friendly not one that says it welcomes children but then you discover the hotel has a wedding and is used for romantic weekends and so I spend the whole time shushing my DDs! I have two DDs, who will be 5 and nearly 3 when we go. I am looking in the Yorkshire area or about 2 hours from East Yorkshire. Swimming pool nice but not essential and I don't mind country or town/city I just want to feel that it is somewhere that is special and that I am really celebrating. Any ideas?
