Booking a few days away near Peppa Pig World...

Thinking of just booking the holiday inn express through the peppa pig website but the rooms look very small for the 4 of us and the reviews say there is little space. There will be 2 adults and children 3 and 4. It is for my DDs 3rd birthday so will also have to bring all her presents and all sleep in the same room (they are used to their own bedrooms at home) DP stays up late too so worrying about not being able to do anything in the rooms once the girls are in bed.

Does anybody have any experience? I want somewhere as close as possible to Peppa pig world ideally. We are hoping to stay 3 nights (Monday - Thursday) and go to Peppa pig world for the 2 middle days. Booking the hotel through the Peppa pig website you get 2 days tickets for the price of one so this also works out cheaper than doing it seperatly.

Looking like it's costing about £270 to book it through the site including hotel, tickets and brekkie.

When are you going? PPW is only open on Mondays & Fridays at the moment (and the weekends). And how tall are your DC? If they're under 100cm (with shoes on) they get in free.
We just came back from a 3 night break at Elmers End which is a Macdonald hotel in Lymington - about 35 mins from PPW. I think it was £180 for 3 nights. We had a 2 bed self catering apartment. It was very 70s but perfectly comfortable and the kitchen had been recently re-done so there was a microwave & dishwasher as well as hob, oven, sink, fridge & freezer. In all, we had a (small) kitchen, a sitting room with balcony, dining area & TV, two bedrooms & two bathrooms. The hotel has an indoor pool you can use, large grounds including a stream with ducks (who were so overfed by our DD that they may never need to eat again), a playground & loads of room for running around & playing hide & seek. The grounds went down to the Solent (there was a fence so no danger) so lots of opportunities for looking at the ferry going to the IoW & other boats. DD loved it. The hotel restaurant has a children's menu which included simple things like boiled egg & soldiers or beans on toast as well as the usual sausages etc. We only ate there once as DD eats so much earlier than us that we preferred to feed her & the eat later ourselves.

Take a picnic to PPW as the food there is overpriced and horrible. Do check out the rest of the park as there are lots of other things your DC can do and lots of birds & things to look at.

Peppa Pig World at Paulton's? There's a Premier Inn virtually next door and their rooms are pretty big. But Murtette's 2 bed apartment does sound a better arrangement (although further away)... in fact may look into that myself...

Do you really want to go to peppa pig world two days in a row??? You really will easily do it all in one day....

There's loads of big cheap hotels, it's only a couple of junctions from southampton airport. You'll only need a day for paulton's park though. The adventure wonderland opposite bournemouth airport and the raptor and reptile Centre in ringwood both fascinated dnephew for a full day each when he came to stay last summer (a week or so before his 4th birthday)

Or go for a stomp in the new forest and look at the ponies Grin

We spent two days at PPW last year as DS1 was obsessed with the ball-recycling area - the second day spent about four hours just sucking up the balls. If your LO is on the verge of 1m tall then make sure you put them in very thin sandals as they are absolute sticklers about it

We stayed in a static caravan at Sandy Balls near Ringwood. Going back at Easter :)
