Planning a break in the summer holiday. Would love to know about your experiences, where is best to stay and in particular if there is enough to do for us and DCs age 5 & 8.

I loved Jersey! We went to the Zoo, it's called Durrell, as in Gerald Durrell, he started it. We also went to the German Underground Hospital, very moving. We went in Oct otherwise I think we'd have spent loads of time on the great beaches too! We hired bikes and generally had a great time. DH is always saying he'd like to go back!Smile

I love it too. I have been as a teenager though, camping for a week and for day visits from France.
The beaches are great for children if you are being careful with the tides, lots of adventures to be have (in the dunes, rocks and water pools). The zoo is great. Great walks around the island. St Helier is a proper town too so I guess you would find things to do there (must have change a lot since I went, I am old!)
You can have day trips to Saint malo or Granville on the ferry if you are bored. I think you can also island hop to guernsey and sark.
