Isle of Wight or Cornwall for weeks holiday in August? And where to stay?

We are looking to go away for a week in august and can't decide where to go. I am struggling to find nice accommodation in isle of Wight (we want something 4 to 5 star ideally - hotel or self catering). Both seem very expensive at an average of £2k for self catering for 4 adults and 2 children! Is that normal?

Any ideas appreciated :)

we stayed in a lovely house i nisle of wight through owners direct - 2 double beded bedrooms and a bunk bedroom with a double n it also. If you go on owners direct is was called the yellow house and cost 850 for the week we went in august. iow is lovely

£2K does sound expensive to me. we stay at Wringworthy holiday cottages outside Looe in cornwall regularly and looking at last years price list 6 of you could stay for around £900. they have a swimming pool and animals. Have a look at the cornwall tourist board website visitcornwall.com this is a good place to find decent self catering/hotels. hope you find something nice.

I tend to use Pure Holiday Homes tidd.ly/84c4bbf0 as they seem to have the most interesting homes available or the other good one is Holiday Lettings tidd.ly/e427ca69
