Farm holidays close to London???

Last year we had a fantastic time with 2yo DD at bosinver farm in Cornwall. Want a similar holiday this spring/summer with DD and new DS (now 6mo) but he is a nightmare traveller so can't imagine driving all the way to Cornwall. Are there any similar types of farm holidays that anyone knows of reasonably close to london? We'd like to avoid holiday parks if poss, so preferably self catering cottage type accommodation. Either on a farm like bosinver or close to a farm/the seaside/ other fun toddler activities. Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated!!! TIA

hi - i can suggest www.highclerefarmpark.co.uk - its in chalfont st giles, south bucks. it has a caravan & camping site but also some rooms to let out. there is lots to do in the surrounding area for toddlers. BEKONSCOT, ODDS FARM & ROLD DAHL museum all nearby

We stayed at Gladwin's Farm about four or five years ago with our two teenaged DSs and MIL. Cottages were fine and the facilities we used (swimming pool, hot tub, tennis court) were all in very good condition and well maintained. Don't think the play barn was there then and DSs were too old for swings/farm animals! Lots of places to visit within a shortish drive and some very good pubs/restaurants nearby.

I can recommend the suggestion by FlyingTeapot. www.fairoakfarm.co.uk Recently ranked no. 3 in the Mirror's Top Ten UK Farm Stays.

Hi can highly recommend Fair Oak Farm, on the border of Kent and East Sussex. It's an hour by train from London Charing Cross, Waterloo East or London Bridge. Website: www.fairoakfarm.co.uk

We are from London and stayed in one their wonderful eco-lodge tree houses. Views and countryside to die for. It's hard to believe it's only an hour from London.
