Christmas in Scotland

We're thinking of going to Scotland for Christmas this year, staying in a lodge park, with indoor pool. 2 adults and two children. We can't decide between going to the Highlands, or one near Edinburgh.

With the last option we'd be able to do a city day trip, see the Christmas lights and market, castle.

My kids have never been to Scotland so it'd also be nice to be in the midst of the great outdoors. We're in the South so it's quicker to get to France

Not sure where you are travelling from but think about the weather in scotland over Christmas and what the conditions could be. have a look at the last couple of years weather for the various areas you are looking at to help you make up your mind. you dont want to book and then find you cant get there due to snow or once there are snowed in. i personally would plump for Edinburgh for this reason.
