Oh wise and travelled mumsnetters, please help me find a nice cottage in Northumberland for 2 plus an 8 month old baby. Budget around £400. Any recommendations?

We visit Northumberland several times a year to stay with MIL and can thoroughly recommend it as a holiday destination, but I can only recommend places to visit, not holiday cottages as I have never stayed in one in that part of the world. I would resort to googling for self catering accommodation in Northumberland and see what comes up.

This is how I usually book a UK holiday anyway and have never ended up antwhere horrible. Try English Country Cottages as well as they always have nice accommodation on offer. I suggest you also try and find reviews of anywhere that looks promising.

Thanks. Always camped before for holidays so cottages is a whole new world for me!

Have a look at the coastal retreats website, we've rented a luxury cottage at easter, it was £645 but thats for 5 of us and at peak time. There is lots of choice on their website and they are sll beautiful

Having now looked at a few sites it looks like there's no shortage of beautiful places. The hard part will be choosing one!
