Hotels in Cornwall-with Self Catering Option

We're hoping to holiday in Cornwall and re looking for recommendations for hotels which has a pool, activities for the kids ( aged 5 and 3) and which ideally might have self catering facilities too. DS has special needs so eating off a hotel menu is not ideal for him, if we could self cater some of the time that would be good. Abroad is out of the question bcs of DS and his health problems. We're in the North of Scotland so would fly to Newquay. Thanks for reading.

try the tourist board website called Visit Cornwall and give them a call to tell them your specific requirements. don't know of anywhere like this on the SE Coast where we holiday but must be something and the tourist board will know. Not sure about flying into Newquay as you will then need a car to get around. Public transport in cornwall is not good. also it is v expensive. what about the train with a family railcard? always masses cheaper.

Hi, try Tregenna Castle in St Ives - they have lots of self catering properties within the grounds of their hotel

Also try the Sands Hotel at Newquay - heard really good things about it being a child friendly hotel but not 100% sure if they have self catering.

I have stayed at Treganna and it is in a great location and yes have sc properties in the grounds and did not take long to walk to beach etc.

yes, we've stayed in a few of the cottages within the estate - it is a good location - short steep walk to porthminster beach .....

the other thing to consider (which is what we do!) - we stay in an apartment just up the road in carbis bay - much, much nicer apartment and a lot less money than tregenna - but we buy a leisure pass to use the hotel facilities - ie. pool, gym, etc. - you can buy them daily or weekly so it works out really well !

there are plenty of agencies that have books in the area, and several sites where you can book direct with the owners - we use this one www.holidaylettings.co.uk/carbis-bay/

hi

we have just spent New Year at the Cornwall Hotel in a self caterting lodge, very high standard, lovely pool and I really enjoyed the spa, kids play area and tennis court. I book each year through www.michaelpaulholidays.co.uk who have just added this and they are always of a good standard and last year we stayed in the summer at Retallack which did have kids club.
