Would love to go to a farm cottage with my two boys ages 10 and 7 a hot tub or pool would be the icing on the cake! Ideally don't want to spend a complete fortune, and special offers places have on at the mo too can you let me know thanks!

We stayed here in October. It's in the peak district. Next door to a farm, chickens and ducks wandering round and you can watch the cows going to milking. Hot tub is very nice.

Thanks both look lovely - we are not that far from the peak district so that looks lovely for a short break, but was hoping for somewhere near the coast for the main hols - so any other suggestions keep them coming!

Have a look at cartwheelholidays which speciailises in holidays on farms in the west country.

Don't know how far you are from west Wales but Croft Farm is wonderful. I have to put a disclaimer that we are friends with the family (DH and DS3 are in the pool in the gallery pictures) but check out trip advisor, they get very good reviews. Another friend of mine has some lovey cottages a short walk (downhill) to a little beach, Cwm Connell, again they get great reviews but don't have a pool or hot tub at the moment. I would happily stay at both (in fact friends of ours have done, despite living close by, without telling anyone beforehand so they could have a secluded holiday!)

About 2 hours max from Cardiff.

Thanks both - have seen Croft Farm they look lovely but a bit expensive during school hols :( thanks for your suggestions - Devon is tempting also New Forest would be nice as we have not been there with the boys, so any suggestions in that area would be great.

This is a lovely place - Beconside. it was a school friends family home before it became holiday accommodation, so I have good memories of running wild/playing nicely in the grounds. It is pricey but vair vair luxurious. www.independentcottages.co.uk/devon/holiday-cottages/Beaconsideestate

Slightly less luxe but still very nice is North Hill. Swimming pool and hot tub are lovely, and the views and walks are gorgeous if that is your kind of thing. we rented the whole place for MILs birthday a couple if years ago and all had a fab time. www.north-hill.co.uk

Also recommended is Beer Farm near Okehampton. We have stayed here 3 times as the accommodation is lovely and the farming family that own it are really nice too. The homemade scones, jam and cream we were greeted with last timewent down well with DH and the DC. It doesn't have a pool and is probably further from the coast than you want to be but it is very close to Dartmoor so pretty views and great walking country. The family are trying to sell it so they are only accepting booking up to he end Easter at present.Sad

Hope some of these suit, let me know if not- I have westcountry connections and may know of other naice places that I can share. GrinGrin

Thanks everybody - some lovely suggestions. The ones that seem to be within our budget seem to be already booked for the week we want - but shall certainly keep them in mind for future. Any more suggestions welcome, I have spent sooo long on the internet looking for places, but stragely have not come across any of these ones before!! Thanks

Wasn't sure of Budget but this farmhouse in Dawlish is beautiful beaches close by and with a pool DawlishFarmHouse there are quite a few farmhouses in Devon on the the same website or for Luxury Accommodation TryBlueChip

Little Edstone in N.Yorks has a nice indoor pool to share between about 5 cottages. It's not coastal but you can be in Whitby or Scarborough in under an hour.
