Cottage in Devon or nearby - dog and child friendly

We are looking to go away for two weeks in the summer holidays. This will be our first holiday with our 1 year old labrador. It will be for 3 adults and 2 children, 7 and 4 plus the dog.

We are looking around Devon but would consider other areas (not Cornwall, just that bit too far from us in Essex). We would like easy access to dog friendly beaches but also woodland/green areas that are dog friendly.

Need a minimum of 3 bedrooms, the kids can share. Max budget is £2000 for two weeks. We would like somewhere that isn't necessarily luxury but perhaps at the higer end if you see what I mean.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I have been searching for weeks but just can't find anything that suits us (probably being too fussy). We were originally looking in Dorset but that seemed less dog friendly than Devon but I actually have no idea. Never thought I'd be booking a holiday revolving around a dog Hmm

Have a look at this one. Its in a beautiful area but you have to go to Hoseseasons for price lists i think.

I'm sure they allow dogs as Vicki is mad about about them and i got our pup from them last yearGrin

Loads of local beaches locally to choose from and good location to visit other places like longleat/Weymouth.

Could be very expensive but worth a look.

these people are as helpful as their name

we stayed here a couple of years ago

The Helpful Holidays advanced search allows for adding in pets, and even things like distance from beach, and swimming pools.

The Helpful holidays website has a very cool advanced search that will find you what you need.

These are wonderful yurts. Your dog and children will be immensely welcome, the owners are utterly lovely.

Try holiday home hunter in Woolacombe 3 mile largely dog friendly beach plus national trust land all around.

Thank you for all these suggestions. Much more the sort of thing we are looking for and better than I could find. Will have a good look tonight when the kids are in bed [smie]
