Anyone recommend a farm stay

We want to arrange a farm stay for the summer - pref a long weekend. Us and our then 18mo and friends with a then 3.5yo. Not camping! Ideally there will be activities beyond a petting zoo - like egg collecting and animal feeding - and evening meals provided. And it should be within easy driving from London - East Anglia and Cotswolds fine, Devon and Cornwall too far. Just wondered if anyone can recommend anywhere?

Hi - you might struggle to find a long weekend during the summer as most places want full weeks from May to September. suggest you have a look at cartwheelholidays.com Cartwheel specialise in farm stays in the south west. i know you said was too far but would give you a bit of a feel for what is out there and what it costs. We drive to Cornwall in under 4 hours from London. good luck

Have a look at the Farmstay website - hundreds of farms with cottages on there www.farmstay.co.uk/

This is a lovely holiday cottage on a small holding in Wales. It sleeps 5 and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Great places to visit and furnished to a high standard. Lots of photos and special offers on their website.

Just spent weeks checking out sites for farms with animal feeding etc as that is what my lot dream of for this summer. Check out Higher Lank Farm in Cornwall for your kids' age range - you can stay in self catering or in suites in the farm house (includes meals etc, I think from memory). Not sure if they'll do long w/e in high season but you could ask.

We've gone for Coombe Mills, also Cornwall, but that seems to be week-only during school hols.

Sorry, read yr final sentence too late - Cornwall too far. We do SW London- Cornwall in 4 hours ( 1 nap, 1or 2 DVDs, play/lunch midway).
