Alton Towers/splash Landings - any good?

just wondering as might go between Christmas and NY - what do you think?

We loved it. Our children were 6,8 and 10 and it was the ideal age. but not all the rides are open at Alton towers and certainly some of the big headline ones were shut. its worth checking whats open so that if your kids are older and they want the big rides they wont be disappointed. spent a day and a half in splash landings but then my kids are water babies!
