Accommodation in Brighton for one night next week with 2 small children?

We want to go down to Brighton some time next week (about maybe 15 or 16 Dec) with DD1 (3.5 yrs) and DD2 (6 months) to see my cousin's new baby, but are having difficulty finding anywhere suitable. Problems are:

Premier Inn/ Travelodge type places - don't appear to have suites, and we don't just want one room because you end up having to sit in the dark, or in the ensuite, after children's bedtime at 7pm!

B&B / hotels - literally all insist on a 2 night minimum stay

Apartment / self-catering flat / cottage - again, all insist on 2 or even 3 night minimum stay (even when I pointed out that at this short notice they probably won't fill the space so could they do a one-night deal).

Any ideas? Surely families sometimes go away for a night without staying with friends or family?!

Try booking.com and look at family suites . The Queens Hotel has one with separate sitting area for 125 a night.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! Amazingly I have tracked down the (apparently) only place in Brighton which doesn't have a 2 night minimum (the apartments at www.ei8ghtbrighton.co.uk) through Late Rooms - got a 1 bed apartment with additional sofa bed for £69, usual price £140. Bargain!

Thanks for the tip about booking.com though - I'll bear that in mind for our next visit. Smile
