taunton to oxford

HI. Any help on this travel query will be very gratefully appreciated as I've been on the internet but cant find anything.

DSS lives near Taunton and we would love him to come and visit. As he is coming up for DS Baptism we cant drive down and collect him ourselves as we'll be busy on that time (already committed to collect relatives from the airports etc).

I have suggested that he goes on the train as there is a straight through service from Taunton to Reading with no stops. Unfortunately he had a bad experince on a train when he was dumped in the middle of nowhere and didnt know what to do. (DSS is an adult but has SN and found the experience quite frightening - understandably he doesnt want to use trains by himself again).

I may have to suggest that we ask him to be brave and get the train and we'll be phoning him every 10 mins to constantly to reassure him and tell him when to get off etc

Before I do that though, does anyone know of any bus service from nearish Taunton to nearish Oxford? I've looked at Stagecoach and National Express but cant find anything better than the train. I dont think it exists but someone might know about a private company that runs a one-off service?
