Where to go for a day out from Leeds - without dcs?

DH and I are meeting up with friends tomorrow night in Leeds. We have tomorrow free, and don't have the dcs with us - where to go?
Harrogate? York?

no-one?

York york york!!!! Its gorgeous!!! Harrogate is nice too and maybe i am biased as i spend as much time visiting York as i can but have never ever heard of anyone who has gone and not enjoyed it. The minister is beautiful....shambles are lovely to wander around.....nice places to eat.....shops to browse....people and friendly and its just a beautiful city. And no i don't work for the York Tourist Board!!!! Have fun!

And the train is easy to get from Leeds!!!

Oooh, we are staying right by the station, so York sounds like a plan. Thanks!

Definitely York lots more to do than Harrogate.
