Lake District accomodation?

we fancy going to the lake district for a long weekend over October half term. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to stay, either hotel or cottage? We have 2 dc, ages 7&5.

I havn't stayed there, but last summer we met the owners of these cottages, and they seemed lovely (the owners and the cottages). They had a young DD too, so are likely to be kiddy friendly. Eskadale is lovely too, narrow gauge railway, decent pub grub....
