Luxury family-friendly weekend. Preferably in the North. Am I asking too much?

Each year we go away as a family (PIL, BIL + GF, SIL, DH + DS and me) to for a luxury weekend of relaxation and fine dining. Last year (DS's first attendance ex utero) was at Glen Eagles. It was amazing, tons of things to do for DS, lots of lovely places for us to eat, and stuff for the adults to do too.

This year we are stuck for places to go. Nothing seems quite as good to me but the others don't want to go back there this year. I'm also due to deliver DC2 in October, and don't want to travel too far.

Can any one recommend a good family friendly holiday (preferably with a Spa Grin) in the North?

Look at here
www.seaham-hall.co.uk/

Don't know how family friendly but mentions ice-cream!

Thanks, we've looked at Seaham Hall but it's more of a conference venue and FIL (who's paying) doesn't want to go there as he'd prefer somewhere with a goof course etc.

Waves toMbj.Is Aldwark Manor too close? I've never been but friends have been for spa days. Sorry but don't have personal experience of that type of hotel.

meant to bold Mbj but it didn't work.

TheRealMBJ · 24/07/2011 17:52

We only go cause we don't have to pay Grin

I'll have a look...
