Has anyone stayed at Gwithian Sands Chalet park??

Ive seen some lovely Chalets for rent for next summer. we love Cornwall but have done the Padstow and surrounding area to the death. Fancy something different.

would appreciate any advice- recommendations.

Have not stayed there, but have stayed at the caravan club site at Gwithian in our motor home.
The area is lovely. Gorgeous beaches.

Not stayed at the chalet park but spent some time at Gwithian beach over half term. It is absolutely beautiful. Huge beaches, rock pools, lovely cliff top walks with huge sand dunes where my DCs had a ball "sand boarding"....I may have to copyright that Also a great little cafe/surf shop.

We were staying in St Ives but I would definitely consider Gwithian for a future holiday.

not stayed at the holiday park but gwithian sands is fantastic, the beach goes on forever ..... it's a real surfers beach though and can get quite windy

might be worth checking out the facilities attached to the chalet park, as I have a feeling that all there is at gwithian is the cafe / surf shop which is OK - wouldn't want to depend on it for a whole week though !

Just posted on another message about Cornwall singing the praises of SE Cornwall which we prefer have a look across at that one. May help. Personally prefer somewhere that is a bit less crowded so am not a fan of Padstow in the summer. Had a few day trips there over the years but just too many people for us! Really like Fowey as well as Looe and Polperro. Or stay up on Bodmin moor.

We have been going to Gwithian Sands nr Hayle for 5 years now and we love it, we normally stay at The Molly (google it) which sleeps 4 very well.This year my mother will be joining us so staying at another chalet The oyster Catcher sleeps 5. The beach is a little brezzy but never busy the sunset surf cafe nr the beach does get a little crowded but the food is amazing and they teach surfing great,very patience chaps and so laid back and also quite handsome. Hayle has a couple of great places to eat The pizza place perfect pizzas ever,great fish and pasta dishes and the red river inn what a find. Also try getting a local pasty and go up to the churchtown road and watch the dolphins swim by.
You wont regret it it could become one of your favorites as well. Cant wait until the 16th when we go for our fun filled relaxing week

Hi just wondering is it still easy to get around the area without a car?? Are there any local shopping areas? or local buses/trains into town. It looks so lovely.

Yes we have. We stayed at the Oystercatcher Chalet which we found on Airbnb. Unfortunately, the place was not covid safe, no cleaning or anti bac had been provided. The wine glasses were filthy, coffee dry and old and bathroom smelt and was freezing. Awful place.

The chalet area is nice but I wouldn't book The Oyster Catcher chalet at all.
