Where has standard cots or cots beds, not travel cots?

Really struggling to find anywhere to go away in the UK that has either a standard cot or cotbed, and not a travel cot. Our 2 yr old is too tall for a travel cot now, but too wriggly for a bed without bars. Any suggestions?

Centerparcs has proper ones.

Can't you take some of those folding bed guards and put him in a regular bed? Could even start trying them out at home first.

I'd second the bed guard idea - we did that a lot with wriggly DC and it was much easier than worrying about getting a cot/cot bed. Mothercare do them about £20ish?

I'm sure we stayed in a hotel that provided the bed guards - why don't you choose where you want to go and then ask the company to provide them - a lot of places can hire in equipment, or they can go to argos and pick them up cheaply enough - offer to pay an extra £20 and I'm sure you'll get a postive reponse!

We stay at Wringworthy holiday cottages in Looe and i know that they have full size proper cots as well as loads of other toddler and small child things thats all included. Agree with others about the bed guards. they are really useful and the pair we had did all 3 of our kids. also you need to have a look at some of the specialist child friendly websites because places on these often provide loads of stuff so you don't have to bring it with you.

We've not planned to take off the sides of son's bed yet as we couldn't see the point of doing it until we have to e.g. he could climb over them so it's dangerous to leave them on. The only disadvantage of this when we're not potty training him yet is the issue with holidays. We'd rather not change the bed setup yet unless we have to .. although if he grows much more he won't fit into a standard cot either, so then we'll have to put him in a bed with a guard at grandparents.
