Days out in Newcastle for 4 + 2yr old

Headed to Newcastle with my LOs from either the 18th or the 24th June (not sure which yet) for a week, including the 2 weekends, well, will head for home on the Sunday.

Any thought son what is best?
I will have DHs help on the weekends but he will be working weekdays.
My DS (2.5yrs) is a bit of a tearaway, so I am a bit scared about where best to take them both on my own.

All advice thoughts greatfully recieved.

The Centre of Life is good, as are the Science Museum and the Hancock Museum (if it's open again yet!).
The castle keep is a lovely place to visit, but maybe not with a tearaway two year old as some of those old stairs are quite steep.

Dates might be changing now.
Think we will be heading down in the middle of July.
Shame really cos we would have been down there before school was out.

Kelziz, open spaces might actually be better than busy museums etc.
I am a little scared of losing them. Thinking I might tie some rope round DDs middle
But DH looked into the science museum and it sounded like so much fun!
And the childrens book museum? Sounded good because it had different levels with things to do. But really just looking for advice from the MN mums.
