Loads of people go to the restaurants on Goosegate, places like Pizza Express etc, then it's just a quick walk across the road to the Arena.

thanks love Pizza express more at lunch time but was thinking of something more filling perhaps more of a restuarant meal

There are loads of restaurants on Goosegate. The Larder is lovely, good, honest food which they pride themselves on sourcing locally.

thank you looks lovely and not too far to walk

Tapas at Iberico is also good.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 16/05/2011 07:29

It is nice, there are so many places to eat in Notts to be honest but Goosegate is so close to the Arena. If you like Italian then there is a Jamie's Italian and a Carluccio's just a bit further to walk.

Iberico is v. good although we've had really slow service there (only once).

Are you parking in Notts? If so make sure you pay for your ticket before you go to the Arena (you pay for an evening's parking in advance at the pay stations) otherwise everyone coming out of the Arena queues to pay and adds about 30 mins to your evening!

We are going to go to the Tapas place I think, looks scrummy...also before a concert dont think we could manage a full blown meal. Good tip re car parking - we were told to perhaps park in Fletcher gate??? or a CP called the Lace Market Car Park - which do you think woudl be best.

Either CPs are fine, try and park at the earliest available space as near to the exit as poss, again, with all those people exiting if you're on a top floor you'll be there for hours getting out - we waited in Broadmarsh CP for 2 hours to get out after Michael McIntyre, really p!ssed me off!

Or park & ride and get bus or tram?

kiwibella · 16/05/2011 21:28

sorry for butting in on this thread Grin but I was reading for interest as I'm travelling to Nottingham for the Royal Centre on the bank holiday weekend. I have never been to Nottingham before so I was interested in the park and ride suggestion? Or any other ideas for parking / eating / site-seeing.
