half term activities for DS1 age 9 in Pembrokeshire

Any of you know anything about half term holiday activities in Pembrokeshire? We have a big age gap between our children and the two little ones (and the adults!) will be very happy on the beaches and walking on a simple holiday this half term. DS1 who is 9 wasn't amused at beaches even when a toddler and is difficult to keep amused at the best of times even when at home in the holidays, where I just book him in to everything I can find as he is happiest when 'kept busy' - football, outward bounds days, drama days etc. Any of you know any of this in Pembrokeshire? Can anyone recommend an outwards bound centre? Salt water activities out as he has very poorly skin but apart from that....anything to make things easier... The other answer would be to take one of his peers with him but I'm not keen on doing that until they are a little older.

What bit of Pembs are you going to be in? this place is good for tiring out a boy (if you do go and see a harassed looking woman with three ginger boys and their friends that will be me and DS1 and 2's joint birthday day) I will try to think of anything else but my gang are very salt water based (thank goodness because we live here and there isn't much else to do!)

Thanks lostinwales. Sorry for delay in replying but very grateful! We are staying in Stackpole. When I phoned the tourist board and said he is normally booked in to holiday football, craft and outdoor activities ad infinitem at home in the holidays, they claimed there were 'no such things' in Pembrokeshire! So lucky yes that yours like the water! I'll give Heatherton a ring - sounds like i might be able to get DS1 booked in to some activities and there might be enough there for the little ones to be amused too.

If you take DS1 to Heatherton across the road is Manor Farm Park which is a lovely place to go to, it was on telly as Anna Ryder wotsit bought it and did it up, you can have a very lovely day there with smaller ones although my boys (4, 8, 11) all love it too. Stackpole is a lovely area and Tenby is a great town for a holiday, he's just going to have to adjust to the Pembrokeshire pace of life for a week!

Bluestone has activities for children through their adventure centre. Not sure if it is open to guests or ot, but their Blue Lagoon definitely is.

There is loads to do in Pembs. How about learning to surf or kayak?

Sorry, just read the thing about salt water being bad for his skin. I didn't notice that first time around.

Or you could just slather him in barrier cream and send him out to do this. It is ridiculously good fun and was invented in Pembrokeshire because there's bugger all else to do.
