Help finding a B&B or hotel in York in June

Wondered if anyone can help me please.
Im looking for a B&B or Hotel in York on the 11th June. We are 2 adults and 3 children age 8, 5 and 2 and I cant find anywhere that will accept all 5 of us.. the ones with family rooms all want 2 night stays and we only want 1 night.

We would like to be able to walk from the B&B into York in the evening so dont want to be too far out.

How about Travelodge or Premier Inn? I think they are pretty central in York, and do family rooms.

I work in the hotel industry, and one of our hotels is in York. Tis a funny city, they all hang out for 2 nights at weekends, esp if the races are on....I would say you will struggle. Have you considered staying on the outskirts and driving in?

Oh I agree it's a wonderful city! I'm nor far away, in Harrogate! But, teh hotels there are funny and do funny things. Have worked in the industry for nearly 20 years and have yet to find another UK city quite like it....
