Haven't been to Oasis - only one I've not been to.

I loved Longleat in that our villa was across the valley so we had to walk down one side and up the other before getting to it - great for a week of fitness and tiring out the kids!

They also have the land train for when it's raining - it rained a lot when we were there.

Longloeat not so great for biking due to the hills - especially with little ones - still doable though.

They also have a fabulous (best I've seen) tree adventure rope bridge play thing - through the trees, above ground - kids (and adults) love it.

However, being from East Anglia, and having lived in suffolk twice and about to be off there again in a few months, Elvedon is still our fave - lovely and flat for walking and biking and never feels as busy as Sherwood and LL.

I would like to go to Oasis though at some point.

Oh - and the rapids at Longleat aren't as easy for younger kids as at Elvedon - you have to hoist yourself trickily over a bit of a wall before the first long, gush down into oblivion! Fine for stronger swimming children but I wouldn't risk it with weaker swimmers.

My kids can swim unaided for at least 50/75 metres yet not sure they would cope with the LL rapids.

We've been to Whinfell twice - once for a week in December, second time a weekend in Spril (couple of years ago now.)

We really liked it. The restaurants and take aways were fine, shop plentiful and not too dear. Pool was big and DD liked the slides, etc. It i very hilly for cycling though - DD was only newly cycling and couldn't manage most of it so we ended up with a tagalong for her instead.

Whinfell! I went back when it was Oasis, but is still good now as centre parcs. I am going this summer in fact.

Leverkusen - is Whinfell exactly the same as the other CP parks or is is very different with different pools/setting etc? Did CP just cahge it all to their own brand of everything etc when they took over?
