Try yurt holidays or canal boat in Birmingham for something different. Take a look at PGL as well and see if they will do you a late deal for all 3 of them. Then you and husband can have May half term at home alone! Look at the last minute sites, late deals sites that sort of thing and don't be afraid to say look its out of my price range can you do a deal. Most places are up for a bit of haggling. Reason you are struggling to find anything is that your budget is on the low side for school holidays. However never give up orgive in, its out there somewhere. Good luck!

what about a holiday cottage - try www.holiday-lettings.co.uk or owners direct or hoseseasons. all often have rural/forest/picturesque holiday homes at reasonable prices around the uk

Have tried all the leading companies, have e-mailed several from holiday rentals but no replies as yet. Thanks

Bluestone Wales? We visited there a few weeks ago and it was great for a relaxing family break with plenty for children to do

triplets - have a look at some of the last minute sites like last minute cottages. you can pick up some bargains and at least you know that you are looking at people who actually have spaces. We have used this site in the past and found something very last minute. Sorry you are still looking, hopefully something will come up today.

reservations.forestholidays.co.uk/AvailabilityResults.aspx?&lengthofstay=7&location=Forest of Dean Cabins&cabinType=Copper Beech&arrivaldate=23/05/2011&beds=1

Forest cabin as requested if you can stretch to £550. Smile Not stayed here but stayed at Cropton & it was great.

Forest holidays are very good, and your 13 year olds can burn off some energy in the hot tub and biking around, they are situated in the forest so they can't actually get into any trouble.

We went there two years ago , stayed in Golden Oak with hot tub, fantastic as it snowed! We cannot go on the 23rd, kids in school until the 27th, I have looked already at their site and they only have availabilty in Scotland, too far from Kent for 4 nights. Thanks.
