Week off end of July, where can we go for a cheapy week?

any suggestions, perhaps not devon or cornwall as we are doing that end of August.

have 1 DS age 6 btw...loves swimming pool, beach, eating at country pubs etc... needs entertainment as OC

Whereabouts are you? What sort of time is acceptable to travel?

midlands so open to anything really ie Norfolk, Wales (never been!), Yorkshire, Somerset, Cotwolds etc...

Lake District, Suffolk (Aldbrough, Thropness)... depends what type of holiday you're after really!

Look up Thorpness, near Aldeburgh. There's a massive lake and it's all based around the Peter Pan theme, so fake crocodiles in the water, Wendy's island, Smugglers Cove..something on every island, which makes it fun for kids! There are different boats to take out too.. kayaks, rowing boats (with names), punts etc. We used to stay in a campsite nearby, but there are properties too.
