We are looking for a nice hotel to stay in next year (probably april) for my parents 70th birthday. We need somewhere with nice food and a nice "treat yourself" hotel. My sister and i have kids so we would need somewhere with baby listening service or babysitters - can anyone advise of where is good? We are looking in the north of england, maybe cumbria or northumberland but would consider yorkshire.

We have stayed at the star inn in n yorkshire before and that was brilliant so along those lines or like one of the luxury family hotels (they are more of less based in the south of england so no good for scottish family)

Thanks in advance

{{http://www.barcelo-hotels.co.uk/hotels/northern-england/barcelo-redworth-hall-hotel-durham Redworth Hall]] just outside Darlington is lovely - the family rooms are a bit dated, but spacious with a separate living room bit with sofabeds for kids so you don't have to go to bed at same time as them.
Indoor and outdoor play areas and a pool.
