3 day holiday SW Wales or Somerset

We are staying with some friends in Pembrokeshire, and then we have to head back to Weston-super-Mare area.
We are looking for very childfriendly (3,4yrs) hotel, self catering, anywhere in between?
any clues?

I would probably go to the Forest of Dean as it is only a slight detour from the journey home because between Pembrokeshire and Cardiff there are nice beaches but will be a bit pants after Pembrokeshire and then once you get over the bridge you are pretty much home.

Depending on dates, we have a self-catering penthouse in Cardiff for you and a few other self-catering options (all 4 and 5 star) in the south east Wales region. If you go to the Best of Wales website you can play around with the different properties and dates there.

Plans have changed now, so just looking for somewhere for one night, so probably looking at hotel.
