Hi!

Can anybody recommend any good toddler friendly cottages in the Lakes? Preferably within walking distance of amenities?

Many Thanks in advance
Pie :)

Be wary of LakeLovers rental agency. We rented a 4* house with them last year. Supposed to be for 8 but only 7 beds made up, dirty, promied BBQ locked away, swimming pool cover broken...I could go on (and have!)

So I can't answer you question directly but some here will be able to I am sure

Goodlife Cottage Company do lovely cottages in the lakes. I haven't got an e mail address but you could google.

Depends where you want to stay though. If you want to be near facilities you need to be in Ambleside or Windermere or some of the smaller places.

There is quite a nice Lodge type holiday park near Ambleside which I will remember at some point and post back.

I go to the lakes alot. Where were you thinking of?

Thanks fifitot. We were thinking of the Ambleside area as looks like lots to do there. It's Easter Week though (unfortunately) as I have to use up my Annual Leave by end of April and I have left it too late!

Any recommendations most welcome :)

www.wheelwrights.com

  • they do nice cottages in that area. They have some in Elterwater - a few miles outside Ambleside but accessible and in the Langdale valley. Though not that much there except a pub but you are next to a posh holiday complex that has a pool and does day passes I think. See Langdale.co.uk. You could stay there it is lovely but very expensive.

Again the Goodlife company have nice places. If you don't want to stay in Ambleside there is Clappersgate which is nice and Skelwith Bridge nearby.

Whitecross Bay is the name of the holiday park I think. It is near Windemere

In Ambleside, up one of the hills there is a collection of nice cottages/apartments called www.kirkstonefoot.co.uk/

Good luck - hope you get something sorted out.
