St Ives anyone? What's it like? Worth a visit?

Dc are 6 and 4. Like playing in the sand. I like cute shops.

Padstow and Fowey have ticked all our boxes. Is St Ives similar? Bigger?

TIA

Never been to Fowey or Padstow but St Ives is lovely. Nice little shops, touristy type shops, art shops, art galleries, great beach.

yes but am guessing it gets v crowded at peak times and poor carparking....lovely on sunny day and fab galleries to trawl around. The Tate disappointing - no permanent collection and if you don't like the current installation then tough....building impressive tho

I like St Ives. It's a bit self-consciously and excessively twee in places but it's still a lovely place to wander round. I found the branch of the Tate there quite good as it was small enough to drag show the DCs round without them losing interest.

Very nice but nightmare car parking, we got the train from somewhere (St Erth I think) and it runs along the coast.

The tate was ok, but not as child friendly as London galleries.

The shops are gorgeous but expensive.

We went for the first time in Feb and loved it.
