We're looking to go away in June. We'd like somewhere that's not too busy, with beaches to build sandcastles on, nice walks, pubs etc

Does anyone have any good recommendations?

Many thanks!

We were at Coombe Mill in Cornwall recently, really lovely pub just up the road (very nice food!) and beaches nearby are Polzeath (for good surf!) and Daymer Bay for a more calm swim! Beautiful walks across the moor in walking distance, or wooded walks nearby, although I must admit we didn't do a lot of walking as I'm only recently off crutches!

Stayed at Coombe mill farm in february, brought our 18month old twins for their first holiday! I was dreading it, but it was brilliant - owners really helpful and friendly. I expected to come back absolutely exhausted, but it was the opposite! Have a look on their website www.coombemill.com

I have to recommend Bosinver www.bosinver.co.uk. Such an amazing place, lovely cottages, all very contemporary and clean, fab facilities for children and in a great location for exploring Cornwall.

Take a look at www.robinhillfarmcottages.co.uk. Set up for children with a heated indoor swimming pool, games room and outdoor play + Hot tub. No need to bring all the heavy stuff - cots/highchairs/stairgates available and on-line grocery deliveries to the door. It's tucked away in an easily accessible hidden valley nr Bideford North Devon and only 4 miles to Westward Ho! blue flag beach & South West Coastal Path and Tarka Trail

How about Court-Farm near Bude? There are reviews on another bit of Mumsnet to rival Bosinver (which is all booked up, I think).
Haven't been, but will be going this summer.

I have recently added a review of Carbis Bay Holidays to Mumsnet. We can't rate them highly enough. Carbis Bay is only five minutes from St Ives and has the most amazing beach, which is quite sheltered so perfect for children. Cots and highchairs are included, which saved us bringing it all. Check out their website www.carbisbayholidays.co.uk we recommend Starboard.

These all look so lovely, I can't thank you all enough! :)

We stay at Wringworthy holiday cottages near Looe. I prefer this side of Cornwall to the North as it is easier to get to being near Plymouth and the dual carriageways rather than down the foot of Cornwall where the roads are trickier. Most places provide all the baby stuff these days if you ask. Some of the more popular places mentioned above book out years ahead so its worth looking at others and comparing things to do and prices. Hope you have a super time wherever you go.
