Going to cp for 4th time in July - thinking of booking time out club for DS who will be 2 - would like to hear of other mumsnetters experiences with the club and any advice...

Not very useful info - one of my dc loved it and one only liked it when he was old enough to make friends etc so 5 upwards - depends very much on your dc and what they areused to.

I had no problems with the organization ro standard of care though if thats what you're asking.

If your dc has no experience of childcare then I would tread very carefully. Its a bit of a busy sink or swim atmosphere.

my DD was nearly 2 when she went for the first time, she absolutely loved it.

I found the staff to be very responsible and it to be very safe and secure.

My DS is ok in a creche environment normally but I was more concerned with whether the staff interact with the kids and do structured activities or whether it is just 2hrs of fighting over a dolls head and everyone goes home with diarrhoea

I've used the time out club at Whinfell a couple of times and it was pretty structured, with a theme and structured activites. No diarrhoea either Grin!!

They're safe, but a bit dull.

Other workshop activities are a bit hit-and-miss in terms of structured activity for the older kids. DD went on a "DJing" one which was rubbish - just sat in front of a computer program and the resultant CD never worked.
