Nice cheap hotel in London...central?

Can anyone reccomend a nice hotel in central London please?

We want to go for a weekend in April...probs aroud the 15th....me, DH, 2 DC and my Mum...soo we need a family type room and a single.

It's a minefield!

The premier inn in Victoria was great when I stayed there last year. Have also stayed at the City Inn Travelodge which is quite new but in the business district near Old Street.

There is a travelodge right in Covent Garden but the reviews are somewhat mixed on tripadvisor and not stayed there myself. The one near Tower Bridge seems to get fairly good reviews either.
