child friendly gastropub / restaurant nr watergate bay

Hi there,
We're going to Watergate Bay, Cornwall, over Easter, me, dh, dd - 6 & ds - 2. Would like to book somewhere nice for Easter Sunday, but must be child - friendly. Have been to Jamie's 15 before with just dh but wouldn't go there with ds it would be carnege!! and more stress than it would be worth. We will be eating in and the obligatory fish and chips etc but would like somewhere nice, but not too fancy or pricey for Easter lunch. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Good idea, have always wanted to nosey at Bedruthen, menu looks good, will ring and see if they're doing a particular Easter lunch.

I'm very jealous btw, we won't be there til May :-)

The Beach Hut at Watergate Bay is very child friendly - I've been going there with my DC since they were tiny!

The Merry Moor at Mawgan Porth is also good for families (but the food was not so good when I was last there) and also The Cornish Arms (owned by Rick Stein) at St Merryn is very good - there were quite a few people there with young children the last time we went and they seemed very happy!!!

How about kahuna restaurant in tolcarne bay, lovely food, friendly service, ds (then 18mths) was made to feel v welcome and they provide a free meal for under 5s. It's right on the beach so great views and a relaxed atmosphere.

Bedruthan is lovely, we stayed there a couple of years ago.

I would go to 15 if you want to. We took DS and he loved it, there were lots of other kids there as well.

Have fish and chips one lunchtime from the chippy in Mawgan Porth. Best fish and chips I've had since the ones my grandma used to cook before she died :)

You could go to Fifteen for breakfast with your DC - a whole different feel to the evening restaurant service and great for kids. (If you go for breakfast - I'd recommend the eggs benedict if they have it on the menu - just so so so scrummy!)

The Chippy in Mawgan as recommended by Alibaba is v good, but be prepared to wait for up to 20 mins if it's busy - during holiday periods.

Alibaba, bless u, memories of your Grandma, I will definitely try the fish and chip shop. Was contemplating breakfast at 15, my friend took her 3 and 7 yr olds, but those lovely big windows, my ds will just have to smear stuff on them, put greasy hands on them, possibly lick them!!! children - they're just not civilised!!
