OK.

So it is definately going to be Butlins, and it is definately going to be apartments (as opposed to teh swanky hotel) and as I will be a newly single mother and have to use Clubcard vouchers that much is fixed.

Which site to choose? The sites themselves look much of a muchness, so I guess I am looking at local attractions to make the decisions.

So recommendations as to whcih park, and what to do locally required please.

Butlins seems very over priced compared to haven or that other one u can get with tesco ? park resort.

youngjoly · 28/02/2011 00:03

Any reason for choosing the apartment? There isn't actually much price difference between that and the hotel?

Any way, I'd go with Bognor. Been to all three, Bognor is the best by far.

Also been to Haven, and think Butlins is much better value for money when you consider what is included for the cost. Its Haven that I think is a total rip off. They charge so much more but basically is not much different from another non branded caravan park that you can get for half the price, with only slightly less facilities.

SlightlyMadSpook · 28/02/2011 00:26

Done haven loads but don't take clubcard vouchers any more. Park resorts looks cheap and nasty compared to haven, in the brochure, and having been past a couple of sites on my travels, it just seems like a big come down from haven....

The fact that butlins is havens big sister I feel that I have a vague idea of what I am getting.

Wrt apartments v hotel, I actually want to go self catering so want the kitchen facilities....is one of the main reasons.hotel does look very nice though.

Go for it n enjoy!

SlightlyMadSpook · 28/02/2011 17:24

But which one????

Bognor.
Definately the best one.

Skegness is my closest, but everything seemed much better at Bognor so it'd be the one I'd travel miles and miles go back to.

Sorry I know this isn't very informative- but just my opinion! Grin

Where are you? I've done Minehead several times and liked it. I would go for which of Minehead or Bognor was easier to get to, (I'm prejudiced against Skeggy because of the weather).

Eddas · 28/02/2011 17:49

We've only been to Bognor but I like it there and choose it because it's the closest to us. Simple as that really. I have no idea what's on in the surrounding area as we don't go offsite Blush but we're only there 4 nights so not really much opportunity to go elsewhere.

This year we're having a self catering apartment but have paid for half board as I actually think it's good for our aged children(6 and 3) as they can have a mixture of different things and even change their minds if they want to. and the eating times suit them. But we wanted the self catering to give us a bit more space and the option to do a bit of lunch rather than pay for lunch every day.

SlightlyMadSpook · 28/02/2011 19:24

Skeggy is closest,. But I have prejudices against it but in its favour it is day trip distance for my parents to visit us for a day trip to the beach.

Minehead is probably easier to get to than bognor.

Will you be driving there?

If driving then Minehead is probably easier.
If train, then Bognor would be (it's really close to the station, Minehead less so)

mummytime · 28/02/2011 20:50

I wouldn't advise Minehead by train, you have to switch to a privately run preserved line to get there (and I'm not sure how easy it is).

SlightlyMadSpook · 28/02/2011 21:12

Will be driving....

I am leaning towards Minehead ATM, slightly cheaper than Bognor, and easier to get to....but have a few days to decide before my clubcard vouchers arrive.

I have been to Minehead and Bognor and would say Bognor.

BunnyLebowski · 01/03/2011 15:25

It's DEFINITELY not definately.

As you were.

thebountymuncher · 01/03/2011 15:35

Thanks Bunny shall definitely try to get this right in future.

Curious though, do you sometimes just scour the site for stuff you can correct?

BunnyLebowski · 01/03/2011 15:44

No need to scour when it's in capitals in a thread title in Active Convos.

Not trying to wind anyone up. Just spreading the word of correct spelling.

SlightlyMadSpook · 01/03/2011 19:02

I know, I know, I can't spell, but happy to be corrected so I learn :)
