Off to Weymouth tomorrow 26.02.11 What's good to do?

I have just this minute booked a room for the five of us in Weymouth!

('Spur of the moment' is a new thing I'm trying!)

I know nothing about the place (went once when I was 13) so I could do with some tips tonight...because we're off after breakfast.

Where shall we go if it rains - where's good to go if it doesn't! ETC ETC ETC

A nice place to eat with 3 children?

What's the seafront parking like?

I know! You can buy their ice cream in tubs to put in your freezer to get you through one night the winter.

hmm. have nothing to do this afterno. WOuld it be unreasonable to drive 2 hours each way for an ice-cream?

Took the children to see My's old school on the way to the seaside. Then we had a lovely sunny afternoon on the beach at Weymouth followed by fish and chips on the harbourside. Today we walked along a windswept Chesil Beach and went to Portland Bill Lighthouse, then on to Lulworth Cove (scene of many a geaography field trip) and Bovington Tank Museum! A smashing weekend!

You should have called in for coffee, we live in Lulworth.

I wish we had - the service in the cafe we chose there was truly dreadful!

Lulworth is Fab. DS loves the Bucket & Spade tree! Glad you had a good time, Candleshoe.

We found the bucket and spade tree a bit creepy tbh! But we loved the beach.
