Fron Fawr and Clydey cottages - experiences please!

Anyone stayed at Fron Fawr and can tell me how far it is from Clydey?

We'd really like the soft play area and animal feeding options of Clydey but at double the price almost we can't really justify it... It says its a few miles but how long does it take and has anyone stayed at one and wished they'd stayed at the other or vice versa?

Any other tips or suggestions much appreciated!

Thanks!

No idea why but this hasn't seemed to have 'posted' so trying it again!

We stayed here in Pembrokeshire... www.scolton.com. Its also featured in the Premier Cottages brochure.

Lovely indoor pool, steam room and sauna. Grounds for kids to run around (and playmates!!).

Very reasonable price and we really enjoyed it. Loads of repeat bookings.

Thank you Ruthiebabes - looks really nice, esp being so close to the house. Is it far to walk? Quite tempted by it, as it's very reasonable in March.

Anyone stayed at Clydey or Fron Fawr?

We actually never made it to the house!! we had fairly good weather so were out and about a lot. The other guests said it was an easy walk though.

Clydey gets v good reviews but so pricey!!

Folly Farm for a day out is great, it has a lot indoors in case of bad weather.

We loved St Davids, a lovely place to stroll around. We also drove up to Cardigan and the scenery was amazing.

Enjoy wherever you decide to stay.

Have stayed at both sites and have to say you get what you pay for. The Clydey site takes about 10-15 mins to drive to from the Fron Fawr place. Whilst Fron is peaceful and there are plenty of grounds for the children to run around in, you can't beat staying at the Clydey one if you have children. We just opened the cottage door and the children run happily and safely to the play areas, the animals, the indoor play room. If you can afford it, I would always stay at the Clydey site. I found some reviews on mums net - search on product reviews and travel and scroll down to Clydey. Also reviewed on Trip Advisor. Hope this helps you decide - they do book up quickly. We couldn't get in last summer!

Have stayed Clydey, not Fron Fawr. Roads around there are appalling. I got car sick every time we went out.... Luckily, we spent most of the time on site as it was fantastic.

That's really useful thanks FelicitySW. What you have said confirms what I thought would be the case.

As I'll be quite pregnant by then and have had horrible nausea a lot of the time (if only it were only first trimester!) that's useful to know weary, thanks.

Posted before I'd finished! I guess we'll have the road issue a lot if we stayed at Fron Fawr, so maybe it's worth splashing out.

I have stayed at Clydey but not FF. I agree that the point of the holiday is partly being able to go and do the things on site, especially if your children are younger. As much as I like them, we can't justify the cost this year though, we can (and are) going abroad for the same price.
