Hi, we are trying to find somewhere to go in the summer hols. We very much doubt we can afford to go abroad so self -catering in the UK, no more than about 4 hrs drive from London, with 2 adults and one DD who will be 3.3 in Aug.

Does anyone have any ideas? Looking to spend under £1k and go for a week.

Thanks

We had a fantastic time in Norfolk - we stayed in Wells-next-the-sea. This year we are going to Swanage

I've stayed in Wells but think it was ££ (did sleep 8 though). It's a really great place to go with a small child :)

Thanks. Just looking at some cottages there and they don't seem to be too pricey. If anyone else has any info on Wells or anywhere else, would be much appreciated.

I took my two children to stay in Poppyland's cottages last May on the North Norfolk coast which we really enjoyed. There was lots to do in the area (not just the beaches) and when the weather was poor there was still plenty to do.

We've been going to Coombe Mill in Cornwall for three years. It's a farm with a big fishing lake and very spacious (great for energetic kids!) The girls got to feed the animals every morning on the feed run with Farmer Nick and there are two outdoor play areas and one indoor play area... and the beaches not too far away either! Thoroughly recommend it, my girls love it.
