We are looking to go away for the weekend to the New Forest with DD 4 1/2. Can anyone recommend a nice child friendly B&B or hotel? I'd also appreciate any recommendations for things to do as a family. Thanks.

We went to the Little Forest Lodge in Ringwood. We went there mainly because of the dog (as accepts dogs) but my dd (4yrs) loved it! It was run by a couple who are grandparents and have loads of toys in garden eg. wendy house, zip wire, footballs. They were amazing with my dd and talked to her, made her feel at home and for a winning touch, gave her a special egg cup for breakfast when she asked for boiled egg and soilders. She thought it was the bast place ever and we were really impressed too. They had a real personal touch and we will be going back.

We were slightly concerned on arrival as was just off main road. But you could not hear the traffic at all. It was also quick to get into heart of New Forest and they were full of recommendations for visits etc.

You would have a great time there!

Thank you grace, dd would love all that, I will look it up. Would you recommend anywhere to visit seeing as our dd's are the same age?

We also went there for weekend. If you stop off at the Visitor Centre in Lyndhurst when you get there, they give you a booklet with fantastic family walks of different lengths. We did one and took a picnic, then went to B&B. They recommended a child and dog friendly pub for meal out.

Next day the B&B recommended a beach to visit that was absolutely fantastic (near Chris
tchurch). We took a kite, did the circular walk around the headland (there is mini train for section back but we missed it). Then great cafe at end that we had lunch at.

My dd also loved driving around the centre of New Forest on the more windy roads, looking at the ponies, pigs, cows etc. She thought it was hilarious!

We cant wait to go back again and will be staying at the Little Forest Lodge when we do. Enjoy!

Thank you Grace, you have been really helpful Smile. I've looked up the Little Forest Lodge and now we are just deciding which weekend to go, thanks again!
